The old farm

Got a chance to see the farm I grew up on while visiting IL last weekend. The new owners have down a fantastic job of converting it to an operational farm complete with vast fields of organic veggies, roaming dairy cows and precocious goats. It was wonderful to see the old place being used as intended. They’ve been getting some great local press as well. Here are some pictures of the Vincent farm in Rochester, IL.

Hot flash action

Need 50mm prime

July 22nd, 2009 · 1 Comment · Data points

It’s on the list for next purchases, along with a SpeedLight…probably 2 for ultra-strobist action. I’m thinking the f/1.8 as the f/1.4 is through the roof at $300+ and not much less used. I rented the 50mm f/1.4 for the V@V photos in May. In fact, the shots below were made with it (w/ the SB-900 for the indoor shot). But I just sent the D70 out for repairs so the lens and flash purchases will have to wait a bit longer.
